Assalamualaikum folks,
Map shows our roadtrip route. We traveled roughly about 3000 miles plus plus for *counting* 1, 2, 3, 4... *counting* 9 days and 8 nights. Oh oh! We crossed 13 states! Or more. And here comes Day 2: Columbus, Ohio to Atlanta, Georgia. Travel time was more than 10 hours. Phew! Good thing we were heading south and there was NO snow. Nothing much happened.
Day 3: World of Coca Cola, Atlanta Aquarium - the world's largest aquarium. They have shark whale, which made me stunned for about an hour just by looking at that huge creature. World of Coca Cola is interesting. We enjoyed the last part of the tour, very much. They had us drink all Coke's products - all 64 of them.
First thing in the morning, we had a flat tire. Dang it! I knew something bad was going to happen the night before. I drove the car the last 3 hours from OH to GA, and the tire pressure warning indicator kept flashing and we fixed it - twice. We managed to enjoy the scene. I called Hertz and they gave us a new van - Honda Odyssey.
Day 4: Atlanta, Georgia to New Orleans, Louisiana - roughly about 8 hours (I know, more). Same old same old. We sang to the music and talk and and and! It appeared that some people like to void their gas tank so much it killed our sense of smell! I was always the first to notice the smell. How terrible. We had dinner at one of the weirdest yet sedap restaurant - SukhoThai. The most expensive dinner so far.
Day 5: New Orleans area. People around dressed up looking like French people. The men are good looking and the women are pretty. We walked around the French Quarter (like in Vegas, they have Vegas Strip. Ouh how I miss the trip!). This place has such a strong Spanish and French influence. We felt like visiting their country.
And here comes the drama of the day. We lost one of our members (read: he lost). For about an hour, we waited in the van. Rasa nak marah ada, nak gelak pun ada. This thing happened occasionally, when he and Aiman gaduh-gaduh manja and then he would have the long face. Ah! This scene can never be put into words.
It's too late now to continue writing and I'm losing my train of thoughts too. I'm still sitting here, wondering why and why it has to come to an end so soon? It felt like it was just yesterday we were in Ohio.
Life's good to miss after all.
Toodles.
