Do I even know what Biotech is? Or when people ask me, I simply just say "You use technology in Biology field". Crappy, I know, right?
It's kinda hard to explain. We work in cellular, or even molecular level. Observing cells, genes, proteins and so so. Some claim Biotech could improve life. In what sense? Genetic engineering food? What else? Stem cells? Others? You decide.
I read this one article on National Geographic. They talked about GM food - pros and cons. As always, everything has the good and bad. And so, why we still continue making things if we know that it could do harm? I don't know either coz I'm not interested. All you should know is, eat good things because you are what you eat.
I'm graduating soon, that's why I brought up this topic, because it's still not clear to me of what I wanna be. I've pictured myself working in the lab. It's pretty good picture, but soon I'll get tired of it, what should I do then?
Let's not make fuss out of this, and just enjoy this few months left in States, shall we?

Few things that u shud know b4 goin back is that,
1) Biotech is a big propaganda in Malaysia at the first place, but no much developments/funds has been made by the govt since the Pak lah's step down.
2) Biotech is no more than business in Malaysia, with a very small scope. expect to transcribe the genome of gamat, or belangkas here right now? Hell NO.
3) Do you know how many biotech grads in Malaysia now are unemployed? Semua pun pulun nk sambung master skang sebab peluang nak masuk susah. technocrate ramai, peluang keje skit.. haiihhh.
kesimpulannya: unless u wanna be a businessman in biotech, go find sumwhere that can provide better jobs (biotech) than malaysia. US, UK, Australia.. even Singapore biotech industry is much better than malaysia. Mungkin ramai yang rasa bangga sebab Malaysia ada BIOTECH CORP, tp tahukah anda, US ada 1000 companies yg setaraf dgn biotech corp tu?
P/S: itulah saja pendapat dari seorang penganggr cam aku, apa2 pun, yeah, u r what u eat, rmai nutritionist skang rekemen for organic food, but of coz la, bnda yg baik dan berkuality tu selalunya mahal...
thanks mister ejoy for your advices. hell yeah aku nak sambung overseas. bkan xnak berkhidmat kt msia, but...not really. unless i'm continuing in microbio, yes, i can see myself working in msia. gambarrrreeyyooo!!!
hahah, i'll be graduating with a degree in nuke engineering. but there's a 50% chance of me becoming, a dedicated housewife. heh, i don't mind actually. heehee.
