Lets take the oath

I am yet to adapt to this whole new Malaysian Education System (well, new to me at least).

Today we had our Oath Taking Ceremony that took place in the [insert a very long name] UPM main hall. All classes after 1 PM were postponed (read: NO CLASS) to give way to the ceremony. Yes, if you wonder, we had started classes on January 3rd. Honestly, I couldn't see any point of having that ceremony. Oh well, maybe I am being a narrow-minded or something, but I really can't see any point of it.

Ok, fine, the VC reading a long and boring text gave his ready-to-read speech and the staff meeting the graduate students. But how did it work? I mean, they provided refreshments for everyone but staff and students were served in different section. Tell me, when did the staff-student meeting happened?

To think that all classes were cancelled, wasn't it a burden? No? It was a joyful moment for us students, I admit, but we missed a class or a lab section and teachers have to cramp things down in the next class - because of THAT ceremony.

I rather spend (or waste) my time lying on my bed and read the novel I never finished than yawning a thousand times in the hall.

I'm sorry for not being such a grateful citizen. I have a reason why I rant about this.

THE OATH RECITAL TOOK ONLY 3 MINUTES OUT OF THE FREAKING 2 HOURS CEREMONY HOW CAN YOU NOT MAD AT THAAATT??? They should've done that during the first month of school session.

SIGH.

But then again, I need to practice my emo management and learn to think the opposite direction. *nods*

Fauzana, wake up! You're in Malaysia right now!

めんどくせえ!

Everything that happened makes me miss this land and the people.
