Basic question: Tell us about yourself. You can google 'interview questions' and from here, you'll get the idea on basic questions being asked. In my case, I'm applying for tutor position. So anything related to that is crucial. Also, tell them about your work experience, if you have any. Anything. Part time, permanent work, previous researches, publication etc. This would help giving them impression about you. State your values too.
More specific question:
Why do you choose this position? I don't have any correct/accurate answer for this but you know why you apply for a certain position, right? If they tell you that the position you're applying isn't suitable for you, do NOT give up. Just show some confidence and say that you're willing to try working on that. Here, PASSION is the key to your answer.
What is your previous U ranking? THIS. My nightmare. I never bother to know where RIT is ranked so I have to pass on this. But please, just to be safe. Google your U ranking, world, US, UK, anywhere. (Edit: I just remember this when Taufiq pointed it out. When I was asked this question, I told them that Mara has a very short list of Biotech U that we can choose and RIT is one of them. And I told them I prefer quarter system over semester system. Yeah.)
What do you know about this field (Biotech or any field you're applying)? This too. Be careful with your answer. I suggest you look up on Science Daily or anywhere science-related pages and read the latest news about the field. Say, what's new in Biotech, or any related research that might attract your interest. They might or might not ask this. They asked me but they didn't ask my friends. So, yeah. They're unpredictable with questions. Oh! They might ask a certain technique i.e how to perform this and that, or how to insert this gene into this and that. Well, this is just an example (I was ASKED this question dang it!).
Tell us about your previous research. Remember what you were doing back in college and impress them with your findings or anything. If you receive any particular award or scholarship, do tell. Well, obvious.
What do you know about us? Look up information about them. Last time, I have to remember all the missions and visions of UPM. I know, crap. In the end, they didn't ask me this question. But this tip was given by one of the panel beforehand so I guess it might be useful for future reference too. ;) Oh! If you have free time, look up the organization too. Who knows?
What's your plan in X years? Plan yourself before interview. Picture yourself heading towards a certain path. It doesn't matter if it's not your dream path but at least you have to convince them that you can work and commit to them. And be honest about your relationship. Well, I was asked about having a boyfriend but that question isn't appropriate in a formal interview. I was told that the panels wanted to see how I reacted to that question. Luckily I didn't freak out and melatah. I was cool. Aiceh ok lets puke. But yeah, I'm telling you the truth. Plan your future ahead of time.
Do you know about this position (you're applying)? A brief research wouldn't hurt. At least you have to make yourself look familiar with the field and the position you wanted. State everything you know about that position. And you should know that you have to be confident when answering each and every question.
What happen is you don't know the answer to a question? Last time, I was asked what's new in biotech and I randomly state what I've read the night before. And the panels said that the news I told them wasn't really new. So basically I failed, BUT I told them that it was what I read in Science news so I believe it's new. Also, I didn't know where RIT is position in world U ranking, so I just said it's not even in top 100 famous universities. And the shocking truth is, it's my confidence that gets me to the next interview. I received feedback from the panels (from a secret source) saying that I was confident answering all those questions and when they asked something I couldn't answer, I gave them answer that impressed them.
And it doesn't hurt if you prepare extra resume/CV to be given to the panels on the day of your interview. ;) Because that makes a good impression.
I know I don't have enough experiences in interview sessions but at least I could help my friends going through their interview in the future. So friends, gambatte ne~ I'll be supporting you. And if you happen to need my help (in academic field), buzz me.
Jya!

Thanks didDiks! sngt membantu. I've been wondering about friends' interviews lama dah, tp x berani nak tanya lebih2 because most ppl are sensitive when it comes to interviews and job-related thing kan, and then bila dah kerja still takut nak tanye sebab mengganggu org ke ape kan haahah so i guess balik msia nanti baru tanya in person. But you've made so much easier here, although nanti aku nk tanye macam2 lagi! bersedia lah ye! :P
